Search engine optimisation (SEO)

At Canary Dwarf, we don’t make a mystery out of search engine optimisation, also known as SEO. We follow these practices to make your site findable in major search engines.

Search engine compliance

We start by making your site search-engine compliant. That means that whether it is a new site or old, we check the basic requirements looked for by search engines.

Relevant copy

We write for your customers not the search engines. Put simply, that means when your customers search for what they want, they find you. We don’t use underhand techniques to falsely improve your position, the engines are not stupid.

Links

We court links in all the right places. That way, the engines will look at your site as an authority on your subject. They like that, and so will you too, as not only will the links drive good quality traffic to your site, the search engines will do the same.

On-page

We observe guidelines published by the search engines as to what constitutes good practice. Much of this regards the layout of the page and the code used to construct it. We make sure your pages are coded according these guidelines, so they won’t mark you down for using sloppy code.

Keyword research

What you think is your ‘ideal search phrase’ may not be what your customers are searching for. We’ll do the keyword research to find out the right phrases for your site, and the best ones to optimise for.
